We Have been having a lot of luck with some new lures this seasen. CAROLINA LURES and LEHI BAITS have been very successful. I highly recommend them. August 24 Beautiful day on the ocean. We went 3 for 5 on wahoo, kept 9 dolphin and released 4 more, and caught 6 barracuda. We also had a mystery catch of a very small tuna, about 1#. After a lot of research we have come close to finding that it was a juvenile Bluefin Tuna. The ocean was full of life and the action was steady all day. July 10-12 We fished the HMY S.C. Governors Cup Tournament. Thurs. we had some excitement. We faught a blue marlin for four and a half hours, but when we got it to the boat we found that the hook had pulled and set in the middle of the fishes back. It was about 350# but only 96. 5" shy of the tournament limit. We tagged and released the fish which had us tied for third. We caught a few dolphin as well in what little fishing time we had. Saturday was a little slow, we caught a couple dolphin and a wahoo. June 25/26 overnight Beautiful night on the ocean. Before sunset we caught 6 nice dolphin, which we released and a couple of skipjack tuna, we set up to drift about 9:00pm and caught a 44" swordfish at 9:15, which we tagged and released. We pulled of a second swordfish around 1:00am, but got a good look at him under our "Hydro Glow" light. That light is amazingly bright and we saw all kinds of life under it, small dolphin, flying fish and hundreds of creatures I could not identify. The next morning we trolled and had a shot at a small blue marlin and caught a couple more nice dolphin and called it a day.
